1.       OPENING REMARKS:  GRAY called the meeting to order in the Conference Room. 

2.      OLD BUSINESS:

A.     FINANCIAL REPORT:  Financial status as of 31 May 2008 was presented and accepted by the staff (WEAVER):

Cash Available:        $20,775.54

CY08 Income:          $12,844.07

CY08 Expenditure:   $15,674.98

      -Gift Shop Sales have been strong

      -Largest Expenditure has been PK MPT

B.  CURATOR?S UPDATE (WHALEN):

            F4C ACCIDENT DAMAGE:    Awaiting work date from the 302 AW.

            MINUTEMAN III MISSILE:  Will be placed north of Bldg 1470 (Old P-47N Site).

CF-100:  Should start restoration & painting during July 08.  AF Funded.        

F-101B:  Will be placed in the Overview Park (Near the East Gate CY 2009.

WATER DRAINAGE PROBLEM (TERMINAL BLDG):  Base CE had a number of contractors looking at the project.  Work may start this summer. 

TILES:  Base CE is scheduling installation work this summer.

NMAF VISIT:  Scheduled or 8-19 Sep 08.

GAS LEAK:  Last week 21CES broke a gas line while working on the Broadmoor Hangar HVAC System.  No major damage or injuries however the Museum?s emergency action plans need to be reviewed...

C.    VOLUNTEER SUPPORT (WEAVER):

D.  ARTIFACTS CREW (McKINNEY)

  -Thirteen accessions during June.

  - Preparing for the NMAF Sept visit.

E.  BLACK GANG (GRAY): 

  - Last items for the MPT cab arrived from VAFB and have been installed.

 F. NEWSLETTER (McKINNEY):

   - Need inputs for the July Newsletter ASAP.

 G.  WEBMASTER (SMALLEY):

    -94,455 hits to date.

    -Several new items placed on the site (Three adopt-an- airplane/missile work days).

H. ARTIFACT RESTORATION (GALBREATH):                                                                                                                           - Getting estimates for a CORONA Capsule and MD-3 power unit stands.                                                                                             - Currently work on THOR Missile (Model) restoration.                                                   

I.  ADOPT AN AIRPLANE PROGRAM (NASH):   

- Army Space Command has adopted the Nike-Ajax missile. 

J. SPECIAL COLLECTION (NEWMAN):

-  The Museum?s collection of books, pictures, films will be called Special Collection rather than a ?Library?.

- Completing work on pictures of space launch vehicles and payloads.

- Oral History program will be part of the collection.

K. AIR DEFENSE EXHIBIT (MC KINNEY):

- Data collection phase has been complete

- Will start next week to construct the outline/script.

- Should be able to brief the Director within the next couple of weeks.

- WHALEN Thanked all involved with the effort.

L. RAMP RATS:

- Ed MIKA doing well.

 -Bird/Child proofing of the B-57 completed.

3. NEW BUSINESS:

            A.  WALMART DONATION (GALBREATH):

            - Working to obtain a donation of a number of light boards that would be used in our exhibits.

            B.  LT ED PETERSON?S DAUGHTER:
