1. OPENING REMARKS: GRAY called the meeting to order and introduced newly appointed President G. Wesley CLARK, M/G USAF (Ret) to the group.
2. OLD BUSINESS:
A. FINANCIAL REPORT: Financial status as of 30 April 2008 was presented and accepted by the staff (WEAVER):
Cash Available: $20,500.42
CY08 Income: $9,961.76
CY08 Expenditure: $13,379.53
-Gift Shop Sales have been strong
-Largest Expenditure has been PK MPT
B. CURATOR’S UPDATE (WHALEN):
F4C ACCIDENT DAMAGE: Working out work schedule with 302 AW to replace damaged parts. Also have ID’d correct radome & wings at AMARC. Working out funding and transportation issues.
PK MPT: The 302 AW transported the last items from VAFB Saturday. Installation started this morning and will be completed today.
MINUTEMAN III MISSILE: Final location is still under study.
GUARDIAN CHALLENGE: PK MPT dedication was 9 May 08. Super ceremony that was well attended by DVs and missileers. CF-100: Should start restoration & painting during June 08. AF Funded. CF-10B: Working with NOARD to obtain funding to restore & paint aircraft. CMOC TUNNEL ENTRANCE: Entrance constructed for the NORAD Birthday dinner has been donated and re-assembled in the City Hangar. Looking good!
WATER DRAINAGE PROBLEM (TERMINAL BLDG): Base CE had a number of contractors looking at the project. Work may start this summer.
TILES: Base CE is scheduling installation work this summer.
CITY HANGAR: P-47 is not moving, have established an Air Defense exhibit working group, and will be working with the Missile Warning working group to update and complete exhibit.
AIRPARK: Members of the 302 AW conducted a walk thru to evaluate restoration requirements. Maybe able to assist (schedule permitting).
F-101B: Aircraft will be restored a relocated to the Overlook Park (near the East Gate during FY 2009.
AFSPC/HO: Working with Hqs Staff to upgrade our display cases.
SIGNAGE UPGRADES: Working to upgrade signage throughout the Museum’s exhibits. Using a graphics artist (student) to work the project. LIBRARY: Much work has been accomplished. If schedule remains on track, should have it completed by the end of the year. Already used for several recent projects.
C. VOLUNTEER SUPPORT (WEAVER):

D. ARTIFACTS CREW (McKINNEY)
-Nine accessions during April.
-May have a new volunteer to work the Museum’s Oral History Program.
-Discussed recent visit from the NMAF’s Senior Curator.
E. BLACK GANG (GRAY):
-Working on the installation of the PKMPT equipment today.
-CE Sqdn completed the final electrical connection.
-Both the Eagle Rock and Bullet model aircraft have been placed on display in the terminal Building.
-DSP Satellite Model has been placed on display in the MW Exhibit.
F. NEWSLETTER (McKINNEY):
- Need inputs for the July Newsletter NLT 23 Jun 08
G. WEBMASTER (SMALLEY):
-93,200 plus hits to date.
-Several new items placed on the site (spring pics of the airpark, PK MPT dedication ceremony)
-Need to work up pictures of the new ICBM Exhibit and CMOC Entrance tunnel.
H. ARTIFACT RESTORATION:
- CORONA Capsule restored.
- Completed model of C-119J aircraft used in the program.
- WHALEN working on exhibit.
- Currently work on THOR Missile (Model) restoration.
I. ADOPT AND AIRPLACE PROGRAM (NASH): Second year of the program is under way. Pictures of one of the recent sqdn’s work day appeared both in the Wing Newspaper and HQs AFSPC Web Site.
3. NEW BUSINESS:
- CLARK requested the Foundation and staff look into hosting another “Sunset in the Park” function.
-CLARK discussed how much work has been accomplished at the Museum over the last several years. He thanked both the Staff and the volunteers for their commitment to excellent and is pleased to be part of the team...
