F-4C, S/N 64-0799, was manufactured by McDonnell Aircraft, St. Louis MO and gained by the USAF on 30 August 1965
Sep 1965 - To 33rd Tactical Fighter Wing (Tactical Air Command),
                Eglin AFB FL
Jul 1966 - To 4453rd Combat Crew Training Wing (TAC), Davis -
               Monthan AFB AZ
Nov 1966 - To 12th TacticalFighter Wing (Pacific Air Forces), Cam
                Ranh Bay AB Vietnam (Deployments to Clark AB,
                Philippines)
12 May 68 - Crash landed at Chu Lai Marine Air Base RVN after
                 taking heavy ground fire in support of the Special
                 Forces Camp at Kham Duc during withdrawal operations
26 Aug 68 - Shipped to and arrived at Ogden Air Material Area, Hill
                 AFB UT
Jan 1970 - Dropped from USAF inventory
17 Mar 70 - Utah Air Force Association began rebuilding 799 for
                 display at the Air Force Academy. Work was completed
                 01 May 70, repainted on 07 May 70, shipped by rail to the
                 USAFA 20 May 70, arriving on 22 May 70. Reassembled
                 by Hill AFB workers and dedicated on 29 May 70.
24 Feb 87 - After an agreement was worked out between the Peterson
                 3rd Space Support Wing, Wing Public Affairs, the Air Force
                 Academy and the Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson AFB,
                 OH, 799 was towed  the 18 miles to Peterson AFB.
1987/1992 - Aircraft repainted to 123rd FIS Portland OR ANG markings
01 Oct 98 - Approval received from HQ AFSPC/HO to repaint the aircraft
                from 64-0799 to 63-7589, a former ADC 57th FIS Iceland asset,
                with display signage to reflect that the airframe was 64-0799.
June 99 -   Aircraft repainted
