Click here for the restoration effort on the tail that was performed during the summer of 2002 to correct damage and corrosion problems. The tail assembly was removed, trucked to Tinker AFB OK, repaired and reskinned, trucked back to Peterson AFB CO and reinstalled.
Many hours of restoration work has been accomplished, which can be found with the side-bar links to "Work Day Activities". Some of the completed activities include painting, cleaning, door repair and seat upholstering. Several other activities are planned for the future, of which one example will be using mannequins dressed in 'period uniforms' to man each station inside the aircraft. Additionally, a short video interviewing several former EC-121T crew members at their stations has been produced and is available for viewing.
